Independent Application Developer Uses Dedicated Hosting to Help Israeli Clients Populate Servers in North America
Amina Glickshtein is an independent web application developer that traditionally used VPS – virtual private servers, to host his clients work. As his business and the scale of his clients grew, he noticed a decline in access speeds and overall quality of service. That’s when he decided to explore the idea of shifting to dedicated hosting.
His initial thought was to find a provider in Israel, since his client were based there. In doing his research, he determined that his clients would be best served if they had their servers located in North America because that is where their customers were located.

Alan: This is Alan Weinkrantz for dedicatedhosting.com, I’m here with Amina Glickshtein here in Jerusalem… welcome.Amina: Welcome.
Alan: And you are telling me some really interesting things about your business and what you’ve learned about doing dedicated hosting. Give us an idea of some of your background starting off where you are actually hosting and had some of your own computers here in Israel, and realize the need to perhaps host elsewhere. Give us a little background on your business.
Amina: I’m developing a web application, a website for six, seven years in Israel and in the past every customer is “oh the website for me”. I order a hosting plan from a hosting company. Each website I get one FTP to pick out and one domain for the websites. And after when I get some customers I start thinking maybe I can order something else… why I need a plan for each customer? So I start with VPS. In the beginning I think that VPS is the solution for me because VPS give me my own operation system, so on one VPS I can host how many websites I want, and I can host how many domains and how many FTP I need. I think that VPS is a solution, but then I realized that someone is sharing with me the CPU time and the memory and the hard disc, and if someone just copy one giga from one folder to other folder all my website stuck, it can take 10 seconds to open a webpage. So I realized if I want my website to work 100 percent of time if I want to control what’s happening myself, if I want to control what my customers get I must my own hardware. I cannot share with someone else my CPU or my RAM or something like that. So at the beginning I think that I must order from a decent company, so I make some ping tests and I see the results that I get from America or something like that, and it sometimes is better than the ping results that I get from Google to understand if Google is working from Israel. Everyone knows how to use it so I must use it for hosting in Israel.
Alan: So what is your URL?
